Prism Inter Africa South Africa attended the International Mine Health and Safety Conference from the 31st of October to the 1st of November. The conference was held by the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy at the Misty Hills Country Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa. The conference was aimed at bringing together management, the Department of Mineral Resources, Minerals Council South Africa, Unions, Health and Safety practitioners as well as Universities. Over the two days a total of 147 delegates attended the conference.
The theme of the conference was to promote and create a healthier and safer working environment in our mines by sharing best practice and successful strategies for zero harm and a value-based approach to health and safety. With the purpose of addressing the main challenges in the mining industry such as logistics, energy, employee safety, contractors and the communities at large.
